There were so many pictures taken randomly with my phone and camera and I have difficulty blogging each and everyone of it. I know a few weeks, or a few months or even a few years later, I know I'll be glad that I've taken all these pictures.

Me & Chriz celebrated Alleena's birthday last Saturday. We had a good time and plenty of laughter.

I don't recall how much cloth I bought but I surely know I love this pattern alot. I even made a belt our of the same cloth. Since I wear basic colours to work daily, a versatile belt like this would add a boost of colour to my plain outfit. And this belt is reversible

I've first started sewing my own bags back in college days and there are more bags in progress. I love shopping for cloth randomly in unexpected places and discover good bargains.

These bags are for sale and made to order. Each bags costs RM 50.00 and there are plenty of cloth patterns to choose

Sunday has become the Meryl Streep movie day for me. I started with Julie & Julia after my usual jog in the morning and It's Complicated later in the evening.

There is nothing I don't like about this movie at all. It is a witty and wonderfully warm- hearted movie showing how both these ladies live their life to the fullest. Like a home cooked meal, this movie is simply comforting and enjoyable. Meryl Streep is a superb actress and I love how Meryl Streep replicates Julia Child's high- pitched voice. And I like the teaming between her and Stanley Tucci in this movie very much. They made a very good couple in this movie. My favourite line in this movie: "You are the butter to my bread, you are the breath to my life".

It is certainly not an easy thing to cook 524 recipes in 365 days. Read more about Julie Powell's blog here.

And later in the evening...

The movie title may give the impression that it is a complicated movie but it is not complicated at all. It is simply fun and entertaining. This movie is simply different and it proves there are still movies made for grown- ups. I noticed there is a tiny blooper in this movie. Did anyone realize a man hand was used to make croissants instead of a ladies' hand? A minor mistake that should not happen. And I wish they could have actually opt for another actor as part of the love triangle instead of Steve Martin.

Nevertheless, the Meryl Streep's movies completes my Sunday.

P/s: I also like the interior of the kitchen featured in these two movies. I found this blog that features some very nice kitchen interiors, and the kitchens in this two movies are also featured here.

If you had a brain in either head, you'd know that I'm doing what's best for both of us.

Another movie over a lazy Saturday... Alleena as promised to finished all the Jennifer Aniston movies with me over a span of a few weekends.
I don't exactly enjoy the movie because it started with a bloop when it featured a few image of a person cutting lemons and squeezing lemons into a glass, Burke Ryan, (Aaron Eckhart) author of the A-Okay self-help book (about moving on from grievance of death of loved ones) recited his first chapter. "Chapter one, if life gives you lemons, you make lemonade". Only he mixes half a glass of vodka with it.
Anyway, I did finished the whole movie since I can never get enough of Jennifer Aniston and I am sure I mentioned this in my previous entries whenever I blogged about a movie. I love the colour of the movie. I guess it is just by coincidence all the movies I watched for the past few weekends has the same colour setting. Well, after all I need to find something I enjoy in the movie in order to finish it.

I revamped my old pants

I bought this pants sometime back and to be exact, 7 years ago. The colours of the pants have faded from dark brown to light brown, but it is still in very good condition. I decided to try some cloth dye, something which I've never done before. Glad my pants turn out well. I used to wear the pants to college and now I can wear it to work. It feels like wearing a brand new pants. One of the most economical way to revamp your clothing. Cost price is less than RM 10.00.

Pour the dye powder into a pot of boiling water and do a colour test on some scrap cloth before boiling the pants in the pot

I even changed the buttons of the pants and added some stiching to compliment the red buttons

Over a jog at 7am and Alleena mentioned she's up for some salt tonight. So there we go including Chriz to watch the movie in the evening.

I am not really a big fan of Angelina Jolie, but I am a big fan of GSC caramel popcorn. It had been months since I last had popcorn. Totally satisfying... I enjoyed picking all the yellow ones and pass the white ones to Chriz.

The storyline was very real as to how these Russian spies are trained since young and how they are profiled to blend into the American community. As usual, you know you will see plenty of actions in the movie but some of the scene looks a little impossible even for a well trained agent. Well, after all it's a movie, everything is possible.

It was a lazy evening today where we decided to skip Pilates and had a pre- birthday celebration with Heng Yew.

Food was great and we paid a premium price for mochi- RM 12.00 vs. RM 3.00, but it was super tasty because the mochi was warm.

And here goes the list of random questions I asked them:

(1) If you were to be named after a fruit, what do you want to be?

Me: Pomegranate

Chriz: Cranberry

HY: Cantelope
* I think we love all the "powderful" canggih- manggih name of the fruits

(2) What kind of vegetable do you want to be?

Me: Broccoli

Chriz: Asparagus

HY: Okra
* HY still not over the canggih- manggih name phase

(3) If you can only have one kind of drink for the rest of your life, what would you like to have?

Me: Ribena

Chriz: San Pellegrino

* Gosh... Imagine HY drinking Kopi- O anytime of the day

Me: Jacob's Hi Fibre biscuit

Chriz: Tuna belly

* Both of them commented my biscuit is a little too dry, but it's really my all time favourite. Who cares...

This movie reminds me of very much like Love Actually. I guess it's because of the wide variety of casts starring in this movie. It's a light hearted movie worth watching and it made my Sunday perfect. I like how the movie include some resemblance of my all time favourite movie Pretty Women since it is from the same director.

In the movie, Julia was in a limo on Rodeo Drive and the driver asked her if she ever shopped there. She said "Once". Big mistake......BIG MISTAKE.

In Pretty Woman, Julia tried to buy a dress for dinner that night with Edward Lewis and no one would help her. She had money, but wasn't dressed properly. Later when Edward went shopping with her she was dressed to the nines and stopped back in that shop and said this famous line.

Nice...

There I go again... Chinatown.

This time around, no "chu chai paeng", I got myself a pair of cool retro glasses and iPhone cover. I love walking randomly from stores to stores and discover all these nice things. I think my lifetime partner is talking about going to Chinatown again this Saturday. Haha... I'm up for it.

And I did something random today. I brewed green apple with red dates. I just thought of it this morning when I went for my usual jog. I love colour of the brewed apple juice.

Any other random thing I did? Yes, a Chinese concert on a Saturday evening.

I've been actively sewing ever since I bought those polka dots cloth. I've made potpourri pillows out of them. I remember I made a pink one for Soh Hong as a wedding gift and that was close to two years ago. I personally thinks they make very good wedding favours because you can customise the scent to be placed in the pillow and people often relate scent to memories.

* the pillows I made are for sale and it can be custom- made (plenty of colour palettes, felt, and beads to choose). Price starts from RM 15.00 and price may be lower depending on the requested quantity.

When everyone in the office seems to be in a foul mood, but in the end you just couldn’t be bothered, because you have this one buddy to make you laugh.

Milton is back for a night in KL

Lets backdate a little bit. Pictures were taken exactly a week ago. Milton eased our withdrawal symptom and came back for a visit. We surely missed him, I am glad he is very well with the new country and new environment.

I watched 500 Days Of Summer over a laid back weekend after a routine jog at my favourite place.

I love this movie. It is so endearing, this movie takes a very conventional hypothesis and turns it into something awesomely unconventional. I love the two quirky leads- Joseph- Gordon Levitt & Zooey Deschanel and everything in the movie is so nice. Love the settings and the colour of the movie, the clothes she wore, the soundtrack and how the narrator introduce this movie in the beginning:

"This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hansen of Margate, New Jersey, grew up believing that he'd never truly be happy until the day he met the one. This belief stemmed from early exposure to sad British pop music and a total mis-reading of the movie 'The Graduate'. The girl, Summer Finn of Shinnecock, Michigan, did not share this belief. Since the disintegration of her parent's marriage she'd only love two things. The first was her long dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off and not feel a thing. Tom meets Summer on January 8th. He knows almost immediately she is who he has been searching for. This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story."

It is always difficult crawling out of the bed when the alarm went off but I am glad we started our day early. I love the thought that we can do plenty of things when we started our day early.
7.30am   Jogging at my favourite weekend spot
9.00am   I can never have enough of "pak tong kou" at my fav
         coffee shop (Alleena thinks it is tasteless, but to me
         its tasteful)
11.00am   My first time to Kamdar- I am spoilt with plenty of
         choices and I stick to conventional Polka dots. I'll be
         blogging more on my projects very soon
1.00pm   Chinatown- It's the time of the year where I can buy
         "chu chai paeng". (As usual Alleena thinks it is
         tasteless)
4.00pm   I became a couch potato till the wee hours. AXN, AFC
         TLC channels kept me very very contented. And we also
         managed to watch some DVDs.

Sex & The City II was juggernaut crappy, there weren't any substance. It was just plenty of fashion and colours shouting at you throughout the whole movie. Who would change 5 times and wear exagerrately on a vacation? I guess only Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte & Miranda would do that. And did I mention the main casts all looks scarily thin and haggard? Don't they know, one shouldn't be too thin when they come of certain age?

Inception is not the standard action movie or a science fiction movie you expect in a cinema. The idea of this movie is so intriguing that it demands a viewer's full attention and concentration. A movie that is so complicated and it made me wonder how did the writer/producer sells his idea to potential investors for this movie.

Saturdays are best spent with great companies...

Me & Candice was inspired and felt like taking some pictures over the weekend after browsing this blog. The wedding pictures was very inspiring and we actually smile looking at those pictures.

And now I am smiling everytime I look at these pictures.
